“But I Don’t Drink!”

Well, here’s something to think about. You can’t walk 10 feet in many companies, or in a hospital, without  bumping into a hand sanitizer dispenser. These ubiquitous devices  have been incredibly helpful in keeping illnesses from sweeping through offices and medical facilities like wildfires. That’s all good.

Human Resources Professionals, however, need to be aware there might be a fly in the ointment... false positives for alcohol when using hand sanitizers. With more and more companies testing for drugs and alcohol, and careers on the line, this is definitely something you should be aware of.

A new study from the University of Florida takes a look at this issue and can help bring you up to speed on the issue, one that certainly could pop up in almost any business that does testing.
